Kremel understands the value of plant-based products in today’s shifting market. Established in 1990, the Greek company Kremel has developed a reputation for producing high-quality dairy alternative products for global markets. When they needed to expand their product portfolio for growing market potential in vegan-cheese portioning they reached out to Makelis, long-term partner of Marel, focused on providing advanced food processing solutions to Greek processors.

Global suppliers of plant-based dairy alternatives since 1990, Kremel have stepped up their production capacity with the TREIF CASAN

In an industry where quality and innovation are key to staying ahead, Marel’s valued long-term partner Makelis supported Kremel in finding a forward-thinking, innovative solution to meet their needs today and keep them competitive tomorrow.

The right team for the job
As Operations Manager, the responsibility for finding a machine to meet Kremel’s growing needs fell to Andreas Makrakis Kremel’s Operations Manager, he recalls the search for the right solution was a difficult process, “Vegan cheese is a specialized product which needs special treatment. We searched for various machines to meet our needs.” When Andreas Makrakis reached out to Marel’s long-time partner Makelis, everything fell into place. “Thanks to Makelis, we found the TREIF CASAN.”

Exceeding expectations
When TREIF merged with Marel, our portfolio and expertise grew, customers knew they could depend on the quality and reputation of equipment continuing. “TREIF is a brand we knew,” said Andreas Makrakis, “We have a very old TREIF MUSTANG, which has always been very reliable, never had any problems.” This experience of reliability was a key element in Kremel’s decision, and they invested in the CASAN cheese cutter. “The CASAN turned out to be a very good and reliable machine,” said Andreas Makrakis, “It has exceeded our expectations.”

A versatile problem solver
The CASAN is a versatile all-rounder designed machine to slice, shred, cube, and cut blocks of cheese into sticks and strips. The technology controls blade frequency and automatic feed pressure to optimize cutting accuracy and efficiency. The CASAN’s sensor system ensures handling is precise and gentle, exactly what Kremel needs for their plant-based products.
Capacity growth from day one
Kremel have been more than happy with the results of their investment, seeing the benefits of the CASAN’s innovative technology straight away. “Here is a machine that makes the most of the potential of our product, it dramatically increased the capacity of our grated cheese,” said Andreas Makrakis. “So far, this machine has solved all our problems.”
The future is plant-based
What does the future hold for Kremel? With the market for plant-based foods continuing to expand, we think the future looks bright indeed. “If we need a new machine in the future, we will choose TREIF again,” said Andreas Makrakis. At Marel, with the support of our valued partner Makelis, we are looking forward to helping Kremel meet all their future goals.
