LAXEY signs agreement for the delivery of Marel processing equipment and software for a new land-based salmon slaughterhouse. The agreement marks a significant step in LAXEY’s ambition to produce 32,000 tons of salmon annually.
The first phase of LAXEY’s aquaculture facility, in Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland is already completed with the first batch of fry transferred to the facility at the end of 2024, with the first harvest scheduled for the autumn of 2025. Marel’s Smartline Grader provides LAXEY with the ability to size-grade salmon with high precision and speed.
