Information
In the final carcass cleaning process, remaining hair and loose skin flakes are burned in a flaming furnace. The Marel Spitfire can be used for the decontamination of the carcass surface, thereby extending the shelf-life of the carcass considerably. By combining modules, the Spitfire is suitable for capacities up to 1,600 pigs per hour.
The flaming furnace consists of gas-air mixing columns with burners. These burners are grouped in such a way that the shape of the carcass is monitored and the singeing effect optimized. The correct gas mixture provides an intense flame with maximum efficiency. The combustion air is supplied by fans. Reflection screens in the machine ensure an intensification of the singeing result. The ignition of each burner column takes place electronically.
