As a processor, you want to match available products to your customer orders as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible. You want to get the most out of your A-quality products and give a profitable destination to the remaining products, while maximizing carcass balance and minimizing giveaway. What you need is a software platform to control your inline equipment so that you can capitalize on your daily performance and maximize production.

Innova PDS (Production Distribution System) is such an inline logistic control system. With Innova PDS, you gather, record and control all relevant data, following each product as long as it’s in the overhead conveyor, from shackling to cut-up.

Manage your process

Starting from order details received from your customers, you enter your production orders into the system. With this information, Innova PDS automatically directs each product to the most appropriate downstream process, putting it into its most profitable form.

The system provides real-time information on what is happening in your plant. It informs you about yields at various points in the process, about the number of products downgraded and about the reasons why. Knowing what is happening at all times and being able to react immediately to any unexpected variances makes it easy for you to manage your process.

Full traceability

Supermarket chains increasingly insist on full traceability. Innova PDS can be your indispensable tool in meeting this requirement. In a fully inline process, Innova PDS follows each product individually from live bird shackling through to release from the overhead conveyor as a whole product or a cut piece.

The system can also be incorporated into an Innova information and control system, extending full traceability right through to your delivery dock.

Software

Besides playing an important part in software solutions such as Equipment Monitoring and IMPAQT, Innova PDS includes a large number of useful modules. Some important modules are:

  • Floating range control helps you distribute sized breasts over two or more deboning systems. The boundaries between the sizes ‘float’ automatically following the incoming supply, ensuring that each filleting line is at all times fed with the appropriate weight range of breasts.
  • Combined rate limiting allows you to combine products from two or three lines, considering them as one line, for a single downstream process. It allows the system to choose from a larger number of products to make exact batching easier.
  • Fixed-weight batching enables inline overhead fixed-weight batching of legs and drumsticks with combined rate limiting and buffer lines for minimal giveaway.
  • PDS-XL long line module gives full information on the flock and individual weight profile of products as well as the total load in the chilling tunnel. Intermediate reference trolleys prevent long line stops; the Trolley Detector checks the status of the shackles.
